In the Bible, the kingdom of heaven, “kingdom of God, kingdom of Christ,” or simply “the kingdom,” designates the sovereign dominion of God over men, dominion in all things consistent with his perfections: his holiness and his justice , his mercy and his love.
Saying that Hades is the paradise spoken of by the Lord Jesus in Luke 23:43 (Jesus answered him: Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise) does not hold water. This is to assume that Christ himself will wait in this place when this is not the case; It is stripping this magnificent promise of its richness and beauty to make paradise a part of hades (invisible place, abode of the dead) where the spirit of Jesus would have gone.
The word paradise means park. In 2 Corinthians 12:4, Paul records that he "was caught up into paradise, where he heard ineffable words, which it is not lawful for man (human body) to utter."
In the gospels, the Kingdom of God is not a place that exists somewhere, but it is a state, a way of being. Being in the Kingdom of God literally means that God rules over us. This Kingdom, Jesus speaks of it in the present tense, it is given to us immediately, where we are, while we are still alive in this world. We can see this in Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! 4 Blessed are the afflicted, for they will be comforted! 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth! 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied! 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you, when people revile you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, because of me.
When the disciples asked, "Where is the Kingdom of God?" Jesus answered in Luke 17:21: "The Kingdom of God does not come as a visible sight. No one will say, 'He is here,' or 'He is there, for behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.
