ZEAL, ROMANS 12:11
∆ Be zealous: that’s an order. zeal is ardor, dedication to an activity. He who has zeal no longer fears for his life. He's willing to do anything for what he does. There are those who are excessively zealous and who fight to defend an ideology. They are zealots. Pierre was one of this number. he was hot and ready every time to fight physically for the Lord Jesus. He had to be Reformed. In reality, it was not his fault: he was used to fighting the Romans to defend the cause of his people. It is a form of terrorism, the difference is that he was not terrorizing his nation but external enemies. These people are without fear for their lives. Peter thought that spiritual things were treated the same way. But glory be to God for saving him through Jesus Christ. For whom are we zealous? For GOD or for a man? John 16:2 They will exclude you from the synagogues; and even the hour is coming when anyone (a terrorist) who kills you will believe they are worshiping God. 
Yet God does not need us to kill in his name. The only person who died to satisfy God's requirements is the Lord Jesus Christ. He himself didn't kill anyone either. He delivered for us. Are you a killer criminal? God wants to reveal his true nature to you so that you will be saved because the bible in Matthew 26:51 And, behold, one (Peter) of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword; he smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 52 Then Jesus said to him, Put your sword back in its place; for as many as take the sword shall perish by the sword.
*if we have zeal, we will be discouraged when we see the work of God stalling, going badly for lack of workers or means. The deleterious situation in our country will be a burden for us. We will think about doing something, we will not fold our arms and make it a subject of criticism, mockery or even hope that it will stop and that there will be no victory. When we have zeal for God, we do not rejoice in evil and anything that dishonors the Lord. Ps 69:10 I shed tears and fast, and this brings shame upon me; 11 I take sackcloth for clothing, and I am the object of their sarcasm.
This is why we evangelical Christians must never stop praying for our nations and the church.
*some are zealous in bad things, we should not have such zeal; James 3:14 But if you have bitter zeal and strife in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes from above; but it is earthly, carnal, diabolical. 16 For where there is bitter zeal and strife, there is disorder and all kinds of evil deeds.
Whatever they do is not for God but to satisfy their selfishness and they are dedicated in what they do. Others, it is when those responsible are there that they are present, active, otherwise, they give up. It is a bitter zeal. Let us not have bitter zeal.   
+No laziness: laziness is the state of being nonchalant. we pretend, it’s like we’re going to do it or not. it’s moribund and it’s going to die. The lazy person loves his body, he does not want to exert himself. He waits for others to act and only follows. if we have to carry out an activity with the latter, we will not succeed if we wait for it. he will find excuses not to be there or if he comes he will return for a reason that only he and God know:prov10:26 As vinegar is to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy person who sends it.
You can never be happy with a lazy person. So God never will be. He who is not lazy gets by with the strength and means he has while waiting to have more.
+Be fervent in spirit: when we talk about fervor, it means that situations can push us to give up (criticism, negligence and many others). But if we have love for what we do, we will move forward. It requires consistency. It's like a long-distance race, you have to maintain the same pace to get there. You don't need too much knowledge to be fervent.
+Serve the Lord: to serve is to carry out a task. By providing a service, it can be done well or badly. Even humans want a job well done.  This is the Lord, we must serve him reverently, without neglect, with all our heart. he deserves the best we can give him; Malachi 1:8 When you offer a blind beast as a sacrifice, is it not evil? When you offer one that is lame or crippled, is that not bad? So offer it to your governor! Will he receive you well, will he welcome you? Says the LORD of hosts.
